I was a victim of this scam!

I was a victim of the Google Treasure Chest Scam. I can tell you from experience that they are unscrupulous con artists and my advice is "Stay Away from them". Do be very wary of any offers that toot the "Google" name as part of their offer as they are not connected with the "Google" search engine.
Please read about my experience with "Google Treasure Chest" so you will be better informed about how these scams work.

Does Google search engine profit from the advertising of these scams?

Questions being asked about these scams that are using Google in their product name.
Why hasn't google shut these scams down?
Is Google aware that these scams are using "Google" connection?
Does Google profit from these scams?
Is Google affiliated with these types of scam websites?

When a Google spokesperson was asked whether the company was aware of the blogs claiming to have made money from "scams using Google connection", he said that Google knows about such blogs but he could not comment on individual claims. "However, we recommend that users exercise the same amount of caution they would when evaluating other types of get-rich-quick claims. Our legal team reviews them and takes appropriate action, if necessary," he added. The spokesman noted that Google does provide Internet users the ability to generate revenue through programs like Google AdSense and the Google Affiliate Network, for which one can sign up at no cost.

While Google may not be affiliated with the scams using "Google" connection, the search engine does profit from it. The putative provider of the product, Google Treasure Chest, pays Google to advertise it. All you need do is type in "google cash" in Google search, and multiple advertisements with similar success stories shows up on the right rail, under "Sponsored Links."

What better keyword than "Google" to have your website come up first in all the listings.

You can come to your own conclusion about whether Google corp proliferates or is affiliated by "association" with these types of scams and why they continue when so many complaints are being launched about google scams.

Google has finally spoken out about this scam, although it seems to me like they waited until after FTC took steps to shut GTC down to do so. http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/how-to-steer-clear-of-money-scams.html
My questions for Google. Why has it taken you so long to speak out when so many consumers were questioning and reporting the use of your good name in this scam? How much filthy lucre did you rake in fostering the ads for Google Treasure Chest before FTC stepped in to stop this nonsense? With all the resources that Google Corp has at hand, it looks like more could have been done a lot sooner to help warn consumers to avoid getting entangled in the scam. My opinion is that your advice is a little late to benefit a lot of consumers because you dragged your feet speaking out. "Just my opinion".
